Andrews was born in Wyeth, on Nov. 15, 1916. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Andrews; and a sister, Helen. Surviving: a sister, Lois Bowers, Coos Bay, Ore. Graveside service and burial: 10:30 a.m.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Kearney United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hagan was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a son, John; a daughter, Rilla Porter; two brothers; and three sisters. Thursday, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kear- Virginia Newman FORT COLLINS, Colo. Virginia (Payne) Newman, 86, Fort Collins, formerly of PameU, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995, in Fort Collins. Mrs. Newman had been employed by the KFNF Radio Station in Shenandoah, Iowa.

She also had been an accounting manager for the Independent Grocers Association in Seattle, until retiring recently. Born in ParnelL she had resided in Fort Collins for a short time. She graduated from the Parnell high school and the Chillicothe, Business College. Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her husband, Dee, in 1988; two sisters, Mildred Hunter and Zel-pha Barber, and three brothers, Robert, Virgle and Colburn Payne.

1L 1995, at a St Joseph hospital. For 38 years, Mr. Raines wa3 a truck driver for Crouch Brothers before retiring. During World War he served in the Army. Born in Rosendale, on May 26, 1918, he had lived in Maryville since 1940.

He was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville. On Feb. 20, 1943, he married Mabel E. Cox in Savannah, Mo. She survives of the home.

Mr. Raines was preceded in death by a stepson, Gene R. Cox; and six brothers, four sisters and two step-grandchildren. Surviving: a stepson, Lloyd F. Cox, Maryville; two brothers, Franklin St Joseph, and George F.

Rolla, three sisters, Bertha Duke and Bonnie Hall, St Joseph, and Ethel Boyles, Savannah; five stepgrandchildren; and four step greatgrandchildren. Spear, 65, Lake Ozark, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1996, at a hospital in Springfield, Mo. The Rev. Spear, an ordained minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), was an interim specialist for the Mid-America region of the church and served churches in had served as a pastor in Indiana and as administrator of a church children's home in Denver. Born in Kansas City on April 1, 1930, he earned a master of divinity degree.

Jordan in Leavenworth, Kan. He died in 1983. Mrs. Jordan also was preceded in death by nine brothers, two sisters and a grandchild. Lydia Isabel (Boone) Tanner, 92, Frederick, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, in Frederick. Mrs. Tanner, born in Frederick on May 14, 1903, earned a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Maryland, College Park, Md. She taught in public schools in Fred: erick County, Md, from 1921 until retiring in 1952.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert G. Tanner, formerly of the Atchison area. Suririvfcig: a sister, May Lowman, Frederick. tnumment at a later date, Mount Vernon Cemetery, Atchison. The body has been cremated.

Arrangements: Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison. and University of Nebraska, both in Lincoln. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority at the university. On July 14, 1925, she married Cor-bon J. Taylor in Mound City.

They made their home in Fortescue, and then Falls City in 1928. He died in 1973, and she returned to Lincoln in 1986. Mrs. Taylor also was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deaconess; Sororsis, of which she was a past president Falls City, and Falls City Women's Club, of which she was a former president Mrs. Taylor also was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Day aftermath of hurricanes Hugo and Andrew and the Missouri Flood of 1993. Mrs. Day also had initiated the Red Cross involvement with the Open Door Food Kitchen in St Joseph and established local support for families of participants in Operation Desert Storm. In 1992, she was presented with the regional volunteerof the-year award by Joint Action and Community Service in Washington. In 1993, she received the Tiffany Award for employee excellence from the National American Red Cross.

Born in St Joseph on Oct 22, 1952, she had resided in Elwood since 1981. She was a Presbyterian. On July 3, 1969, she married Charles A. Day in St. Joseph.

He survives of the home. Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Conner. Additional survivors: two daughters, Jan and Tina Day, both of the home; a son, Chuck, St. Joseph; her mother, Mar-jorie Conner of the home; and two grandchildren.

Edwards, 63, St. Joseph, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, at a St. Joseph hospital after a brief illness. Mr.

Edwards had been employed by the A Plumbing and Heating Supply Co. in St Joseph before retiring 12 years ago. Born in Hiawatha, on May 29, 1932, he had resided in Belton, before moving to St. Joseph 23 years ago. Mr.

Edwards was a Lutheran and a former member of the Eagle's Lodge Aerie No. 49. On June 12, 1961, he married Jane E. Vandawalker in St Joseph. She survives of the home.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma N. Hodge. Additional survivors: five sons, Allan 1, Charleston, S.C., Jerry Belton, and Phillip Bryan K. and Steve SL Joseph; two daughters, Lorrinda J.

Buck Allen Locklin, 25, Barnard, formerly of St Joseph, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1995, at his residence. Born in St Joseph on Jan. 21, 1970, Mr. Locklin had resided in St Joseph before moving to Barnard.

He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan and Nodaway counties, Mo. He graduated from Central High School in St Joseph and was a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Mr. Locklin was preceded in death by a brother, James C. paternal grandfather, Homer Dunlap; and maternal grandparents, Francis and Bonnie Richey.

In 1938, she married Eugene Sunderland in Maysville. He died in 1985.

Hanks FALLS CITY, Neb. Mary Evelyn (Wilken) Hanks, 94, Falls City, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, at a Falls City healthcare center. Born in Onarga, DL, on April 6, 1901, Mrs. Hanks graduated from high school and attended the Grand Prairie Seminary, both of Onarga.

Mrs. Hanks was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church at Falls City. On Nov. 24, 1921, she married Ralph IL Hanks in Kankakee, DL They made their home in Nebraska City, and moved to Lincoln, in 1942. He died in 1976.

She moved to Falls City in 1984. Mrs. Hanks also was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Smith. Surviving: a daughter, Marjorie J. Stephenson, Falls City; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
