How to Investigate and Expose Kagha

Find Kagha's Chest

After you encounter Kagha for the first time, you can head to the Servants' Quarters and find Kagha's Chest hidden behind a bookshelf. Go in the broken wall next to the bookshelf and lockpick the chest open. Alternatively, you can also use the spell Knock to open it.

Defeat the Mud Mephits in the Swamp

Read the note and the book you find inside the chest to start the side quest. Afterwards, go to the tree in the swamp that is marked on your map by jumping across the stones and onto the island.

Focus on the Ancient Mud Mephits

Once you arrive, there will be a large group of Mud Mephits and two Wood Wood enemies. They are not strong individually, but they can easily overwhelm you since they will spawn Young Mud Mephits that explode. Avoid this by eliminating the Ancient Mud Mephits first.

Get the Note in the Wooden Crevice

After defeating the enemies, go to the back of the tree and get rid of the Twisting Vines by setting it on fire. When the vines are gone, get the note inside the wooden crevice and read it. This gives you proof of Kagha's betrayal.

Confront and Convince Kagha

Make sure to have someone with good Charisma and a proficiency in Persuasion to talk to Kagha, like Wyll.

Head back to Emerald Grove and confront Kagha about her betrayal. When you do, you'll be faced with the option to convince her to side with you. This will lead to two other dialogue options to fully get her on your side.

If you fail the skill checks, Kagha will become hostile and you will have to fight her and three shadow druids. Regardless, the battle should not be difficult since other druids in the room will still help you.

Speak to Zevlor

After defeating the shadow druids, go to the tiefling encampment and tell Zevlor that you stopped the ritual. He will be happy to hear the news, and this would end the side quest.

Rewards for Investigating Kagha

Hellrider's Pride

Zevlor will reward you with the Hellrider's Pride gloves after exposing Kagha and stopping the ritual. If you convince Kagha, she will also be friendlier when Halsin returns to the grove after you help him escape the goblin camp.
