Our investment in communities across the country takes shape in a variety of forms. Alongside financial support, Synchrony employees volunteer thousands of community-service hours every year —everything from building homes and beautification projects to mentoring students. Through these initiatives, we remain committed to uplifting the communities in which we live and work.

Through our focus on Education as an Equalizer, we will expand access to higher education, skills training in high-growth fields, and financial literacy for underserved communities and the Synchrony workforce. Over a five-year period, we will invest more than $50 million in the program.

Annual report

In 2023, we delivered another year of strong financial performance — including record purchase volume — by once again putting the value of experience, the strength of our operating model, and strategic investments in play to deliver for our customers, partners, employees and shareholders.

The multiyear transformation we kicked off three years ago has allowed us to be more focused on the industries we serve — accelerating our ability to bring products and capabilities to market faster while exceeding the expectations of our customers and partners. At the same time, our culture — built on trust, flexibility and innovation — remains strong and differentiated as we continuously adapt to make Synchrony an even greater place to do great work.

Environmental, social, and governance report

At Synchrony, we approach ESG with the objective of doing what’s right, reducing risk and creating value. Our ESG program embraces our vision to improve everyday quality of life and business through our growing ecosystem of financial products and experiences and our values to be honest, passionate, caring, responsible, bold and driven.

Equity, diversity, inclusion and citizenship report

Long before Synchrony had a formal Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Citizenship (EDIC) focus, we prided ourselves on a culture of openness and mutual support. Many of our early programs around diversity and inclusion arose organically – simply because it was the right thing to do. Over the years, and as EDIC has risen to the forefront of corporate responsibility, we, too, have evolved.

Task force on climate-related financial disclosures report

To deliver on our company vision and meet stakeholder expectations and requirements, we have a responsibility to understand our climate-related risks and opportunities. We believe that implementation of the TCFD recommendations over the coming years will sharpen our focus and support integration of climate-related considerations in our business processes. Our climate journey remains centered on the maturation and enhancement of our processes for identifying, evaluating and better understanding climate-related risks and opportunities for our business and stakeholders, which in turn will help Synchrony navigate the transition to a more sustainable economy.
